Gateway Milers invites your troop/chapter to walk with us in our exciting scout program! We make walking fun! Gateway Milers club is a member of the American Volkssport Association (AVA). Our mission is to promote and organize noncompetitive fitness activities that encourage lifelong fun, fitness and friendship for people of all ages and abilities. Gateway Milers host several events and programs for scouts.
The American Volksport Association (AVA) has long encouraged walking as a way to remain active and fit. AVA beleives walking can be a fun activity for young people to experience with their family and friends. To encourage youth participation AVA offers programs with local Girl Scout Troops. Gateway Milers is proud to sponsor an event walk with the local Girl Scouts: Walk Together Program

We invite the Girl Scouts to join us for a walk with the raptors at the World Bird Sanctuary on November 2nd and a soup walk in University City on January 18, 2020.

Walk Together Program:

1. Walking with the Raptors November 2 2019; Pre-registration by October 26 2019. Cost $5 (walk and patch) per walker. Families are welcome. Each walker must pay $3 walking fee. All minors must sign Minor Waiver Form.
Ramble with the Raptors, in cooperation with the World Bird Sanctuary. This short 3-5K hike takes us through the trails at the sanctuary and spills out into the bird viewing area where you can chat with a few of the keepers. We ask each person to bring an item from the World Bird Sanctuary Wish list as a service project.
2. Ice Carnival Soup Walk on Saturday, January 18, 2020, Trinity Presbyterian Church, 6800 Washington Ave, University City, MO. This short 3-5K walk will go through the beautiful community of University City and Delmar Blvd to view the ice sculptures and live ice carving as well as ice slides and games. We ask each person to bring 2 cans of soup, one for the community pot and one for the food pantry. Upon returning to the start point, you will be rewarded with warm soup and fresh baked bread!
